The DBT group at R.I.S.E. Integrated Mental Health offers a structured, skills-based program designed to help individuals build practical tools for managing emotions, reducing distress, and improving relationships. DBT is an evidence-based therapy originally developed for people experiencing intense emotions, self-criticism, and difficulty with relationships, but its skills are useful for anyone seeking healthier ways to cope.

In our group, participants learn and practice skills across the four core areas of DBT:

Mindfulness

Developing awareness of the present moment and learning to approach experiences with clarity and acceptance.

Distress Tolerance

Building tools to manage crises and tolerate emotional pain without making the situation worse.

Emotion Regulation

Understanding emotions, reducing vulnerability to mood swings, and learning strategies to manage strong feelings.

Interpersonal Effectiveness

Strengthening communication, setting boundaries, and maintaining healthy, respectful relationships.

Skills are taught in a supportive group setting and practiced between sessions, with additional resources shared through Google Classroom. Our DBT program runs 6–12 months, offering the time and structure needed to integrate skills into daily life.
