Board-Certified Psychiatrist
Dr. Amanda Sedgewick s a board-certified psychiatrist with specialized expertise in women’s mental health and addiction medicine. She completed her undergraduate degree at Simmons College in 2006 and earned a Master of Science in Bioinformatics from Boston University in 2009. Dr. Sedgewick graduated from the University of New England, College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed her psychiatry residency at Maine Medical Center, Tufts University School of Medicine. She further advanced her training with a fellowship in Women’s Mental Health at McLean Hospital in Belmont, Massachusetts. Dr. Sedgewick holds dual board certifications in psychiatry and addiction medicine, with a focus on treating women with substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions such as PTSD, depression, personality disorders, and anxiety disorders.
In her role as Medical Director at RISE Integrated Mental Health, she oversees evidence-based protocol development and implementation across neurotherapeutics, medication management, therapy, and women’s mental health divisions. Dr. Sedgewick is dedicated to adhering to the highest standards of medical practice, facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration, and ensuring trauma-informed, effective treatment planning for all RISE patients. In addition to her leadership role at RISE, Dr. Sedgewick serves as an attending psychiatrist at McLean Hospital, with roles in the Division of Alcohol, Drugs & Addiction, the Division of Women’s Mental Health, and the Neurotherapeutics Department Ketamine Service. She is also an Instructor at Harvard Medical School and directs the Recovering Safety program, an evidence-based treatment designed for women with substance use disorders who have experienced intimate partner violence (IPV).
