Chris Burns is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with advanced training in crisis stabilization, inpatient psychiatry, and palliative and end-of-life care. He earned his MSN from Columbia University School of Nursing, where he was recognized with multiple leadership and academic awards, and completed his residency at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, SC, where he received advanced training in inpatient psychiatry, outpatient mental health, substance use treatment, primary care integration, trauma informed care and veteran-focused services. He also holds an MFA from New York University and a BA from Colorado College.
He recently worked as the primary prescriber on the 10-bed inpatient psychiatric unit at Concord Hospital Franklin, and provided psychiatric consultation and coverage for Concord Hospital’s emergency services network and worked as a clinical instructor for medical students. Previously, he worked at Lakes Region Mental Health Center, serving adults with severe and persistent mental illness in the community. With a career rooted in evidence-based practice, collaborative care, and compassion, Christopher is committed to supporting patients and families in navigating psychiatric illness, trauma, and life transitions with dignity and resilience.
At RISE Integrated Mental Health, Chris conducts comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, develops individualized treatment plans, and prescribes psychiatric medications, including IV ketamine, esketamine, and TMS therapy as part of the neurotherapeutics services. His approach to care is thorough and compassionate, committed to the well-being of every person.
