Specialized Individual Therapy at R.I.S.E. Integrated Mental Health

R.I.S.E. Integrated Mental Health offers short-term, evidence-based individual therapy designed to target specific symptoms, skills, and support treatment goals. Individual support is typically provided as a structured, time-limited intervention, often alongside other services within our program.

How our therapy program works

Patients referred to therapy at R.I.S.E. complete a dedicated therapy intake appointment, which is separate from our comprehensive psychiatric evaluation.

This assessment allows our therapists to understand your current symptoms, treatment history, and goals in order to develop a focused, individualized treatment plan that aligns with the broader care you may be receiving either within R.I.S.E. or with medical and mental health providers outside of the clinic.

Individual therapy at R.I.S.E. is often delivered as part of a broader, coordinated treatment plan rather than as a stand-alone service. Many patients benefit from combining individual therapy with group therapy, medication management, or other clinical services, allowing skills learned in individual sessions to be practiced and reinforced in group settings and applied in daily life.

Our therapists work closely with the psychiatry and neurotherapeutics teams to ensure psychotherapy is integrated and timed appropriately with other components of care, such as neurotherapeutic treatments (including TMS and ketamine) when appropriate. For many patients, individual therapy serves as a targeted intervention to build specific skills, process key experiences, and support recovery during an active phase of treatment.

Evidence Based Therapeutic Approaches

Therapy at R.I.S.E. draws from several well-established, research-supported approaches, allowing clinicians to tailor treatment to each patient’s needs.

Common modalities may include:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

A structured approach that helps patients identify and shift unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors that contribute to depression, anxiety, and other symptoms.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

A skills-based therapy focused on improving emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

A trauma-focused treatment that helps individuals process and reframe beliefs related to traumatic experiences.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

An approach that supports psychological flexibility by helping individuals clarify their values and build skills for living meaningfully even in the presence of difficult emotions.

Mindfulness-Based Interventions

Practices that cultivate present-moment awareness and strengthen the ability to observe thoughts and emotions without becoming overwhelmed by them.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy

A therapeutic framework that explores different “parts” of the self and supports healing through increased self-compassion and internal balance.

Relapse Prevention & Recovery-Focused Therapy

For individuals with substance use disorders or behavioral patterns they wish to change, therapy may include strategies to identify triggers, strengthen coping skills, and maintain long-term recovery.
